Come Kinderspiel this Saturday
Free theatre! Free wine!

Don't miss another chance to see a studio showing of Stolen Chair's Kinderspiel, the totally fabricated true story of a Weimar-era nightclub where adults play like children and customers pay to watch. When it was produced in 2007, Time Out called it "haunting" in a 4-star review and Martin Denton of NYtheatre.com declared it "required viewing" and the "most provocative and thought-provoking work that indie theater has to offer." We recently toured Kinderspiel to "The Artfulness of Play" festival at The University of Western Ontario, and we're bringing it back to New York as we explore options to remount it again later this season. To whet your appetite for the full production, we'll be presenting Act 1 in a fully staged and costumed studio showing.

You can join the CST today or purchase it as a unique, experiential holiday gift for friends and family.

For less than the price of two Broadway tickets, the theatre (or science) lover in your life will receive eight months of arts and entertainment, including:

  • Exclusive access to every stage of Quantum Poetics' development, from its creative retreat to its world premiere; they will see first-hand how a new play is born.
  • Members-only panels, lectures, and discussions with some of the country's hottest scientific writers and thinkers, who will reveal the secrets of how their universe(s) and brain work.
  • A chance to participate in our members-only science fair and to build that exploding volcano their parents forbade in 4th grade.
  • Their name on the guest list at New York's most scientastic Valentine's Day party: "Atoms and Eves"
  • An invitation to join the CST's online social network filled with exclusive Stolen Chair and Quantum Poetics content: a feedback forum, video, photos, podcasts, and more.
  • Field trips to NYC's most exciting science-themed cultural offerings.

What you missed from the CST launch event...
A report from the CST's embedded journalist, Jo Ann Rosen

NYTheatre.com has embedded reporter Jo Ann Rosen in the CST, and she will be giving you the inside perspective on what it's like to be a member of the country's first Community Supported Theatre. We're happy to have her and hope you'll enjoy reading her dispatch from the CST Open House kick-off.

Referring to the highlights of the retreat for Quantum Poetics, Jo Ann said, "All were big scientific ideas applied to every day life. They were made comprehensible and whimsical by this very clever group."
